Parent involvement → Effective therapy
Parent involvement is a key component in a child’s therapy and makes the process more successful!
Regular Review meetings with the parents are done in Samkit rehabilitation centre to enhance the involvement of the parents.

- The parent lives with the child and observes him on a day–to–day basis. The parents’ observations at home about the child are valuable for the therapist.
- Also, the child feels supported, and helps them understand that there is an entire team behind him, not just the therapist.
- The therapist can teach the parent those skills that she teaches the child during the session and thus the treatment can continue at home too. This gives a strong home program for effective therapy.
- Being involved in the child’s therapy can unveil many issues within the parents that could contribute to the child’s difficulties. This does not mean that a parent is a ‘’BAD” parent. These may include a lack of education about parenting skills, post-partum depression, stress, etc.
